It is reported that the Dvorak keyboard layout has been released for 86 years. Compared with the traditional QWERTY keyboard layout, the Dvorak keyboard layout is more ergonomic and can make typing with both hands faster. Patented by August Dvorak in 1936, Dvorak reduces the finger movement by placing all vowels in the middle row on the left side of the keyboard and frequently used consonants on the right.

The fastest English typing speed in the world is still created on the Dvorak keyboard. In 1985, a typist named Barbara Blackburn typed continuously on the Dvorak keyboard for 50 minutes with an average of 150 words per minute and the fastest time can be Up to 212 words per minute.

Considering that we usually use two fingers to type on the iPhone, and we often use our thumbs, the Dvorak keyboard layout may not be so good on the iPhone. For users who are accustomed to the traditional QWERTY keyboard layout, it is really unaccustomed to experience the Dvorak keyboard and currently this keyboard layout only supports English input.

However, Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak likes this keyboard layout very much. He said: "The thing I liked most about Dvorak keyboard layout at the time was the feeling of the fingers." With the advent of the iPhone, He had to use the QWERTY keyboard and gradually abandon the Dvorak keyboard layout.
