1.Screwdriver.

When repairing cell phones, we need to use a screwdriver to open the phone case (some phone cases are pressed and opened without a screwdriver). And hexagonal screws are mostly used; different cell phones need different screwdriver specifications, generally T5, T6, T7, T8, etc. Some models are also equipped with special screws, you need to use a special screwdriver. When opening the case of the phone, you need to choose the right screwdriver according to the type and specifications of the fixed screws on the phone case.

2.Tweezers.

Tweezers are often used in cell phone maintenance tools, they are often used to hold the wires, components and integrated circuits, etc. Different occasions require different tweezers, generally to prepare a straight, flat, elbow tweezers. Commonly you need to choose a good quality steel tweezers.

3.Electric soldering iron.

In cell phone maintenance, you always need to use a soldering iron to replace the components on the circuit board, and the requirements for it is also very high. This is because the cell phone components are mounted on the circuit board with very advanced technology, the components are very small in size, high precision,highly integrated. If the soldering iron is not properly selected, in the welding process it is easy to cause repair failure, such as false soldering, short circuit, so use a high-end soldering iron as much as possible, such as temperature-controlled anti-static soldering iron. In addition, you need to use high-power soldering iron to weld some large devices such as the welding of shields, so you also need to prepare a common 60W soldering iron.

4.Heat gun.

Heat gun is one of the most used tools in cell phone repair, its using requirements are also very high. Heat gun is frequently used from the removal or installation of lots of small components in the integrated circuits. In different occasions,the heat gun has special requirements for temperature and air volume,when the temperature is too low,it will cause the components to be soldered, when the temperature is too high,it will damage the circuit boards. The air volume will blow away small components, the choice of heat gun is also very important, do not choose low-grade heat gun for price issue.

5.Soldering flux.

In cell phone welding process,it is the necessary to use soldering flux to avoid false solder or solder joints with burrs on the surface.

6.Washboard water.

Cell phones are susceptible to moisture, dust,etc. especially when soldering with non-rinse flux, so the phone must be cleaned.

7.Tin absorption tape.

Tin absorption tape is very important in the cell phone repair process , it has a strong adsorption capacity for solder, If there is too much solder on the circuit board or the solder joint is short-circuited, it is easy to use the tin absorption tape. Generally tin absorption tapes with a width of 1.5mm-2mm are used in mobile phone maintenance.

8.Anti-static equipment.

In order to prevent electrostatic damage to mobile phone components, we need to use anti-static table mats, anti-static wrist straps and anti-static soldering stations, and these devices must be properly grounded.

9.Multimeter.

A multimeter can measure the parameters of electric current, voltage, resistance, crystal diodes and transistors. It is also a necessary instrument for manufacturing and repairing various mobile phone products and other electromechanical products. It is one of the most commonly used maintenance instruments in mobile phone repair. It mainly tests the voltage of key points in each part, the continuity of the line, and the quality of the components.There are many types of multimeters on the market now, but they can be divided into two types, one is an analog multimeter, and the other is a digital multimeter. Both types of multimeters have their own uses in cell phone repair, but digital multimeters are widely used for their high accuracy.

10.Voltage regulator.

In the maintenance of mobile phones, in order to facilitate the test, it is necessary to prepare a  voltage regulator which output voltage is required to be adjustable, the output voltage is 1-15 volts, and the current is 1-2 amps. There are two types of meter head and digital display, which are used to observe the current changes in the work of the mobile phone.

11.Oscilloscope.

The function of the oscilloscope is to measure all the signal waveforms in the mobile phone. As the models in the mobile phone are all pulse waves, the multimeter cannot measure it. It can only be measured with an oscilloscope, such as: RXI/Q receiving baseband signals, TXI/Q transmits baseband signals, 13M, 32.768KHz and other signals. Under normal circumstances, a 20M dual trace oscilloscope can be used.

12.Frequency meter.

Although the oscilloscope can measure the presence or absence of signals such as 13M and 32.768KHz, it cannot measure the accuracy of these signals. The frequency meter can measure the specific value of the 13M master clock and the 32.768KHz real-time clock, which is convenient for maintenance (some oscilloscopes have a frequency meter.)

13.Table lamp.

It is mainly used for the inspection of small components in lighting and magnification, and whether the circuit board is broken or not.

14.Spectrum analyzer.

Generally, the maintainer does not use it. One is that his price is higher, and the other is that the operation is more complicated. A signal generator is required. But it is very convenient to use to find faults.

15.Software maintenance instrument.

Due to reasons such as voltage, temperature, static electricity, hardware and software quality, etc., the software in the mobile phone is constantly lost or disordered, resulting in various software failures. It is necessary to use a special software maintenance instrument to rewrite the software. There are two kinds of common used software maintenance instrument:

No disassembly: that is, no need to open the phone case, store the software data of various mobile phones in the computer in advance (some do not use a computer), and restore the software in the mobile phone through the data transmission line and the software maintenance instrument (actually an interface circuit), rewrite the software in the phone (as the tape recorder copy tape),

Disassembly: There is no software data of a certain model in the maintenance-free maintenance instrument, or the mobile phone cannot be connected to the maintenance instrument, and can only be disassembled and rewritten with a special universal programming instrument, such as UP-48, 128, etc.

16.Accessories.

We must have some mobile phone accessories when we repair. We can also buy some old mobile phones. On the one hand, it is used to disassemble useful components; on the other hand, if the old mobile phone consists of two boards, and the mobile phone is in good condition, the repaired mobile phone motherboard can be exchanged with the old motherboard. Thereby, it can be judged which motherboard of the repaired mobile phone is faulty, so as to narrow the scope of finding faults.
